Giants Story Coming to 5E

Still officially a rumor. And yeah it's not Against the Giants, but we can still dream, eh?

Hollywood can't seem to produce anything other than remakes these days, why not WotC too? Confused

They will never stop mining Greyhawk for ideas. Cool

No need to dream, just run Against the Giants as is. I was a little hesitant to DM my players through it using 5e rules at first, thinking they'd get utterly crushed, but I've been proven wrong. 5e characters are extremely resilient and hold up just fine through classic ad&d modules. It's still a lethal module and a stupid party (regardless of edition) will likely die, but it's been a lot of fun revisiting the classics with 5th edition. And not just the giants series; Tsojcanth, Tomb of Horrors, and (currently) the Slavelords have all been covered by my group with very few problems or conversion work. It's been a blast!

As for the new Storm King's Thunder, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious. I hope it is a completely new, original campaign centered around giants. I'd rather see that than an unnecessary rehash of G1-3. And its easy enough to move it over to Greyhawk.

Storm King's Thunder

Ok so it is out there. Has anyone adapted it to GH? Is it easily ported? Does it have a GH flavor to it? Is it worth the $$??

Good thing with Yawning Portal coming out with Against the Giants in it, we can use parts of both. I'm planning on using both as part of a campaign in Geoff with some of the locations altered in SKT to Geoff.
