An alternative view on the politics of the Uleks.
The Ulek Triumvirate
The three Ulek states, County, Duchy, and Principality, cover the southern Lortmil Mountains, west to the Sheldomar River, and each to the southernmost portion of the Handmaiden River and lower Jewel River. Though they are perceived as three distinct states, the authority of the rulers overlaps significantly, and they function more as parallel administrators of the entire region, split along racial lines, rather than as a simple alliance. This is quite baffling to outsiders, and the inhabitants tend not to bother trying to explain it, going along with what others prefer to project onto them.
To Ulekians, Archdruid (Count) Lewenn is the ruler of the Humans and Hobniz, Fasstal (Duke) Grenowin is the leader of the Olve, and Olinstaad (Prince) Corond is the sovereign of the Dwur. This is, however, not absolute, and perhaps 15% of Humans acknowledge Duke Grenowin as their leader and another 15% acknowledge Prince Corond as their sovereign, while about 5% of Olve and Dwur accept Archdruid Lewenn as their ruler. None of the rulers are offended by this crossover allegiance, accepting the choices of their people.
