Something interesting in my Hold of the Sea Princes campaign has been how to account for the tropical climate, particularly heat and humidity. IMC, most people who wear armor in the Hold prefer leather or studded leather. A handful of warriors wear "exotic" armors like leather scale, brigandine, and lamellar (originally presented in 1e's Oriental Adventures).
Here are the game stats that I developed for them:
“Exotic” Medium Armors
Leather Scale, costs 20 gp, provides AC 13 + Dex modifier (max 2), and weights 20 lbs.
Brigandine, costs 50 gp, provides AC 14 + Dex modifier (max 2), and weights 25 lbs.
Lamellar, costs 100 gp, provides AC 15 + Dex modifier (max 2), and weights 35 lbs.

Thanks for that MTG. Those can be used in my campaigns as well. I always wished they would had expanded armors.
When you say "Leather Scale" is that referring to scale as in scales of a beast?
