Grey Grimoire Autumn 2024

Our fourth issue is here!

More returning authors, special guest authors, adventures, and other new materials are here for your consideration.

The Tale of Two Dalts by Rob Kuntz. Discover the lost secrets of Dalt from the creator of that being. You will be quite surprised at who Dalt really is! Edition neutral.

Legends of Altimira by Jay “Lord Gosumba” Scott. Revealing two more characters from his long running campaign, Jay brings us greater insight into those who explore the realm he has created for Greyhawk. Stats for 1/2E.

Henway’s Magnificent Menagerie: Ecology of the Coral Golem by Troy “Cannibaal” Alleman. Encounter another mysterious creature of the water of Oerth. A perfect guardian for the many magic items Troy has created. Stats for 1E, 5E, and C&C.

Treasures of the Sea: Sea Hunters Whaler’s Harpoon by Troy “Cannibaal” Alleman. The perfect weapon for dealing with many of the creatures Troy has created. Of course, it is certainly protected by one. Stats for 5E.

Dolphin Free Locathah by Samuel “Samwise” Weiss. A short adventure and sequel to Nork Tortle Soup from issue. Can you save the locathah and yourselves from the evil dolphins that have you trapped on a deserted island? Stats for 3E.

G-ds of Greyhawk Part 3: G-ds of the Flanaess by Rob Conley. An overview of the history and development of the Flan powers. Edition neutral.

Perikarn by Samuel Dillon. A small town in the Prelacy of Almor suitable as a base of operations for players and backdrop for an adventure. Edition neutral.

Kedric Copper Mine by Samuel Dillon. A short adventure for PCs of 5th-7th level, set near Perikarn. Can you help the miners with what is haunting their mine? Stats for C&C.

Kingdoms of Touv by Richard DiIoia. A look at the Touv of Hepmonaland, the lands, and their social systems. Edition neutral.

Pipeleaf of the Flanaess by Harry Constantine. A flavorful look at a traditional past time of halfings. Stats for 5E with 1E and 3E note.
The Secrets of Magebane by Paul Jurdeczka. A solution for those troublesome mages you want to take prisoner. Edition neutral.

Pilgrim’s Rest Inn by Eric Bailey. An inn for PCs to stay in, located in the city of Chull, with information on the owners, staff, and frequent guests. (See previous issues.) Stats for 5E.

Old Faithful by Matthew McImon. A pair of alternative classes for Flan of the hidden places who remain true to the old ways. Stats for 5E.

BONUS SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
In the foreword. Read it now!

The Grey Grimoire is a fanzine dedicated to the World of Greyhawk, one of the oldest published settings for fantasy role-playing games, a milieu that grew up with the original Dungeons & Dragons© system, and the campaigns and adventures of Gary Gygax, Dave Arneson, Len Lakofka, Rob Kuntz, and other pioneers of tabletop RPGs.

This project is entirely non-commercial. The Grey Grimoire in no way represents a challenge to the copyright, trademarks, or intellectual property rights of Wizards of the Coast, the owners of Dungeons and Dragons and the World of Greyhawk.

Please include a line or two describing your article or artwork. I prefer articles of at most 4,000 words, but you may write up to 7,500 words if the nature of the work requires it (a detailed city write-up, for example). Short articles are welcome. Only submit your own written work. Coauthors should send a joint message. Use a file format compatible with Google Docs. No use of ChatGPT or other AI-generated text is acceptable. Do not send AI-generated images. Please do not send anything you do not have the rights or permissions to use if you did not create it. Even free stock art should be credited. I always want to honor the work of creators. All articles or artwork should be set in or related to the World of Greyhawk. No simultaneous submissions, please.

Awesome! Ewan says in the forward he's been EIC for five issues of the Grimoire. Was there an issue #0 or where's the fifth issue?

Either a typo, a confusion with Visions, or the fact that we have edited a considerable amount of material for issue 5 already.
That is in addition to the editing he has done for my TNC releases.

I suspect I meant to delay that Foreword until issue #5, which will be my final turn at the helm. No matter.

We can consider the load of TNC material as #0. It doesn't have art, but there's a lot of it!
